Sunday at George Poston Park

I was playing cards with my family last Sunday afternoon under the shade of one of the shelters the park offers with a view of the lake. The sun was out and the wind was calm, what a beautiful day to spend with the family, we had a good time.

As usual I always carry with me my Nikon camera just in case I could capture good pictures. I don't like to miss any opportunity.

This time I saw a couple bringing their kayaks without any effort towards the lake, they seem so happy and relaxed ready for the adventure ahead of them.

I ran and set up my camera and tripod at one end of the pier to capture how people can enjoy in another way this beautiful park. I hope they come back again I'd really love to see more people taking advantage of this lake.

The sun is going down in the West and the time is now telling me to prepare to leave as the young couple navigating to shore are doing . Also the mosquitoes are making their presence and is not very pleasant.

The new add-on features to the park will bring more people to enjoy this wonderful park, now I hope to make new friends to play volleyball right in front of the new lake.

Is very easy to find ducks on the water, looking for food or just swimming across the lake. You can also find beautiful birds and turtles. The park also provides two shelters for BBQ grill or to celebrate parties.

Why do I love Photography?

There is nothing more exciting and rewarding when people look at the pictures that I have taken and they say "I love it" looking at their expression and smile makes me feel very good that I have recorded what they were looking for, a beautiful memory of them in a great place and time to keep forever.

How do I get inspired?

I get inspired by people and nature most of the time and living in North Carolina has given me the opportunity to take beautiful pictures in great scenic places. It is easy to find a different place for shooting people and nature in general.

Where do I photograph people?

Uptown Charlotte has unique places, its parks and buildings are famous for their flora and fauna, and architectural design. It just makes me feels like if I were somewhere in Europe. To make people stand out in my pictures I love to shoot in old places like churches, old buildings' brick walls, old cars, long alleys, etc.

Another place that I frequent is the rivers, the rushing waters, the rocks and peaceful place help me to get inspired.

There is one place I have not shot yet and that is the beach, I know.... the summer is gone but still have time to get beautiful pictures,early in the morning or late in the afternoon would be great.

The Fall is coming so the leaves will change color dramatically so I will be ready with my camera to record those spectacular changes.

Don't worry I haven forgotten about Winter, I love it too, can't wait to shoot in the snow.

What do I love to photograph?

I love people because I can record their happiness and unique expressions in a given time. I also like to take candid pictures especially children. And of course love to photograph pets.

I love Nature because is wonderful and beautiful and reminds me of our creator everyday. I love trees, waterfalls, sunsets, sunrises, mountains and beaches.
